The northernmost and harshest surf school in the world

At the moment, surfing is one of the most popular sports, and it originated in time immemorial thanks to the inhabitants of Polynesia. The first boards invented by them did not differ in special grace and convenience, they had massive sizes and weighed about 70 kilograms.

Now lovers of this sport, born in hot Polynesia, can be found not only on the warm waves off the sandy shores, but even in the harsh Arctic waters.

It turns out that more extreme Norwegian surfing is gaining more and more popularity. It even has its own school, the northernmost surf school in the world! This is where we will go now.

A place called Unstad is a small village with several houses, almost all of them are surrendered to surfers who come here. Here is the camp of the same name for surfers.

There is nothing to do without warm wetsuits here, because the water temperature is 5 ° C and the air temperature is minus 2 ° C.

The place is very beautiful and picturesque, so not only extreme people come here, but also those who want to simply enjoy the magnificent landscapes.

An experienced coach will work with you at the Norwegian surf school, and all the necessary equipment can be rented.

In the evenings, surf lovers gather at tables, drink hot tea and chat.

The size of the board varies depending on the level of skating.

Do not think that only experienced surfers go to harsh Norwegian waters, beginners are also not uncommon here.

After the cold northern waves, it is unusually nice to get into a hot bath. In the photo on the left you see the legendary Australian surfer Tom Carroll, who received two league titles.

The mesmerizing Atlantic Ocean.

The surfer managed to catch the north wave.

Here he is such a harsh, but marvelously beautiful, arctic surfing in Norway.
