A woman gathered near her office 200 hummingbirds that do not leave her

Meet Melanie Barboni, an assistant research assistant at UCLA Earth, Planetary and Space Science, which is not without reason called the hummingbird caster. Near her office, she gathered a company of 200 unique birds, very attached to the woman and loudly indignant every time she was late in giving them dinner.

Barbony was always obsessed with hummingbirds, even in childhood, when she lived in Switzerland, where these lovely birds could not be found at all. “My biggest dream as a child was to see hummingbirds. Imagine my joy when I found out that my next job would lead me to Los Angeles, where hummingbirds live year-round,” says Barboni.

"I won’t find a place where they weren’t ... They make my life happy. It was a crappy day? What difference does it make if a hummingbird is around? Was it a good day? They will make it even better!"
