Retrospectives of life in Paris before and during World War II

Roger Shell was a well-known French photographer who worked in various genres in the 30s and 40s of the last century. He conducted fashion shootings, made magnificent portraits, shot nudes, still lifes and reports.

One of his most interesting works as a reporting photographer was the photographs taken by Shell in Paris on the eve of the Second World War and then during the German occupation of the French capital, from June 1940 to August 1944. The negatives made at a time when the world at the cost of blood and the lives of millions of people tried to stop Hitler, the photographer hid and hid to the last. He introduced them to the general public when danger passed and Europe began to spread its wings again.
