Finnish photographer captures the unusual friendship of the wolf and the bear

“It's very unusual to see a bear and a wolf get along like this,” says 56-year-old Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen, who took these impressive shots. A gray wolf and a brown bear every day for 10 days from 8 pm to 4 am spent time together, they even shared food with each other!

"No one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear made friends," says Lassi.

"I think that perhaps at the time of the meeting, the bear and the she-wolf were still very young, unsure of themselves and did not know how to survive alone. It is always nice to share such rare moments that you simply do not expect to see in the wild."

This rare couple managed to capture the Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen.

He took pictures of the gray she-wolf and brown bear for 10 days.

"In Europe, no one has ever seen bears and wolves living so close and becoming friends."
