A spectacle from a different era: how was the sixth annual steampunk festival in England

Steampunk is a movement that originates in science fiction works of the 19th century. Famous inspirers and classics of this trend are Jules Verne and Herbert Wells. Their characters adhered to the style and manners of the Victorian era, but at the same time combined them with futuristic technologies that were alien to that time.

A couple of weeks ago, steampunk fans held another highly entertaining Haworth Steampunk Weekend festival in Northern England. What was not there in the three-day triumph of an alternative lifestyle: music, dancers, artists, burlesque, vintage cars, a masquerade ball and even your own fashion show!
