Stapelin is one of the most famous monasteries of Augustinian Catholics, using the castle as their refuge for more than a century.

To date, 10 priests live in the castle, who conduct services and engage in pastoral cares.

According to historical data, the castle was built by the Randerode family in the 13th century, the first mention of it dates back to 1293.

Subsequently, the castle changed owners more than 10 times, until it was acquired by the adviser of Hertogenbosch, Hendrik Mahi.

After the purchase, he completely remodeled it in a neo-Gothic style.

Stapelin was ready for the XIX century.

Today, in the southern part of the castle complex, many ancient architectural elements have been preserved.

This is the original roof of the XVI century, and stone walls erected in the XVI century.

In the eastern part of the castle is a tower that has retained its appearance since the Middle Ages.

In the western part there are two small towers dating from the time of the bourgeois revolution in the Netherlands, and in the southern part of the castle stands a chapel built in 1600.
