19 photos about the hard life of Vietnamese circus performers

Not for nothing that clowns and other circus artists in real life quite often appear sad and tired people. If this is true for more developed countries, what can we say about Vietnam? In one of the world's poorest countries, few people live sweetly, and even representatives of the most dangerous and complex circus professions cannot count on material well-being. Almost every day, these amazing, strong people risk their own life and health for mere pennies.

Photographer from Barcelona Christian Rodriguez came to Vietnam to shoot an emotional, heart-rending project about the life of Vietnamese circus artists. He was not interested in bright costumes, make-up, spotlight, stage images, smiles and applause. What he wanted to see and show us is the real, backstage life of circus performers. And in it, in this real life, most of them do not have money to rent housing. Every day is sweat, injury, and blood. And no chance for a prosperous future.
