Orda cave in the Urals: if there is a paradise for divers, then it is here

This cave is very popular among scuba diving enthusiasts, because it is the longest flooded cave in Russia and the second in Eurasia.

Orda cave is located in the west of the Ural Mountains, in the valley of the Kungur River. Administratively, the cave is located in the south of the Perm Territory, in the Orda district, near the village of Orda.

The locals had known for a long time about the existence of a cave in this area, but cavers began its research only in the early 90s of the last century. Specialists from different regions explored the underground halls and galleries and soon they were able to discover that the cave has an extensive underwater part.

Orda cave belongs to the plaster and at the moment has a length of 4,600 meters. About 4 kilometers fall on its underwater part, which is often visited by divers.

In the cave there is the Kristalny Grotto, the Icy Grotto and several main passages: Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow. There are deep lakes, as well as ice stalactites and stalagmites that appear in the cold season. Some halls of the cave are so huge that even powerful lanterns are not enough to illuminate the walls.

The cave keeps a low temperature, no higher than 4-5 ° C, and in winter it drops even lower and ice may form on the surface of the water.

The cave is extremely popular among divers, both Russian and foreign, and many are sure that the Orda cave hides a lot of interesting things. Her research is ongoing, and the extent of her moves is likely to be greater than the number currently indicated. Some rooms have lighting and even benches.

It was near the Orda cave that the first diving base in Russia was organized. Diving is regularly held here, and the cave itself has the status of a geological natural monument of the Perm Territory.
