Katamama and Potato Head Beach Club

With the launch of Katamama in April 2016, the PTT Family Indonesia added the first hotel to its portfolio of world-famous restaurants and bars. The new project is located on the island of Bali in the city of Seminyak next to the legendary Potato Head Beach Club. Katamama demonstrates the contemporary context of Indonesia's rich cultural and craft heritage.

Famous Indonesian architect and long-time partner of PTT Family Andra Matin was involved in the design project of the hotel. Many items of timeless innovative interior design are things from his personal collection. All decorative elements were created by the best local craftsmen using the traditional craft practices of Indonesia.

Only local materials were used in the construction and decoration of the hotel, such as Balinese bricks made from pressed coconut, teak, as well as handmade decorative tiles from Java. All 58 rooms feature unique handmade furniture. The textiles used in the design of the rooms, as well as ceramics and wickerwork, were created by local artisans. Modern design elements appeal to the Balinese lifestyle and reflect the natural beauty of the island.

The interiors, designed by the PTT Family creative team and the Takenouchi Webb design bureau, have become home to over 100 original works created by the best contemporary Asian artists. Hotel rooms include paintings by artists such as Anusapati, Jompet Kuswidananto and Eko Nugroho from Indonesia and Alfredo Juan and Isabel Aquilizan from the Philippines.

Following its mission and developing the original concept of all projects, PTT Family continues to promote cooperation with both local craftsmen and international architects, designers, musicians and artists.

Potato Head Beach Club is known for its unique design of thousands of window shutters. He gained fame as one of the most popular clubs in Asia, which has hosted numerous international activists, including John Legend, Snoop Lion and Foster the People.

Designed by architect Andra Matin, Potato Head resembles a stadium or Colosseum. The territory is surrounded by a huge lawn, in the middle of which there is a swimming pool with a floating bar - all this is located in a delightful amphitheater. Colorful painted shutters of various sizes form the famous patchwork facade of the building.

The club's restaurant is impressive in scope, original menu design and interesting design. Here you can find both Asian and European cuisines. Potato Head is one of the best places on the island where you can meet an unforgettable Balinese sunset and enjoy signature cocktails to the music of world DJs.
